Finance and compliance support for Surat businesses

Surat runs on two industries with very different finance problems: diamonds, where small, high-value inventory moves between many hands, and textiles, where material passes through weavers, processors and traders before it is sold. We support both, remotely from Bengaluru.

The business base

What drives business in Surat

Surat is the world's largest centre for cutting and polishing diamonds, with the multi-product Surat SEZ at Sachin, where diamond and jewellery units work alongside other sectors, and the Surat Diamond Bourse at Khajod. Its synthetic textile industry — powerlooms, processing houses and a large trading market along Ring Road — is one of the biggest in India.

Both industries depend heavily on job work, credit-based trading and stock held at someone else's premises. The industrial zone at Hazira adds steel, petrochemicals and port activity.

Local compliance

What differs in Gujarat

GST, TDS, PF and ESI work the same way everywhere. These are the state and local obligations we track on top of them.

  • Professional tax under the Gujarat State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act.
  • Job-work movements under GST between weavers, processors and traders, including the ITC-04 return.
  • Inventory held at a job worker's premises, reconciled at both ends rather than only in the owner's books.
  • Payments to micro and small suppliers that manufacture or provide services, made within the 15- or 45-day limit, since a late payment is deductible for income tax only in the year it is actually paid.

Common questions

Questions from Surat businesses

Do you have an office in Surat?

No. We work with Surat businesses remotely from Bengaluru. Where the work needs time on site, such as a stock verification, we agree it at the start of the engagement.

How do you track stock that sits with job workers?

Every issue and receipt is recorded at both ends, with conversion loss accounted for against the job. Unreconciled job-work stock is one of the most common places value goes missing in textiles.

Scope and professional coordination

Statutory audits, prescribed certifications and other restricted work are signed by an independently engaged licensed professional, wherever the client is based. Full detail is on our Professional Scope page.
